Rising Krishna river traps shepherd and his flock

In Karnataka's Yadagiri, a shepherd and his flock of sheep have been trapped on a river island for days after the Krishna river began rising from heavy showers.

Yadagiri: A shepherd along with his flock of sheep have been trapped on a river island in Narayanapur village of Hunasagi taluk of Yadagiri district after the Krishna river started rising from heavy rainfall.

Toppanna, a resident of IB Thanda went to the island to graze his sheeps five days back, but the Krishna river crossed the danger mark and started overflowing.

Since then he has been trapped in the river island.

After the locals reported the news, Hunasagi Tahasildar, Vinay Patil and a team of officials reached the spot and promised arrangements for the rescue.

NDRF team is expected to carry out a rescue operation today.
