Karnataka mandates 14-day home quarantine for people coming from outside

The Karnataka government has revised the quarantine norms for persons coming from other States, including Maharashtra, and said 14 days of home quarantine is mandatory.

Bengaluru: As the cases are rising in the state, Karnataka government on Monday in a circular said that people coming from other states, including Maharashtra, shall be placed in 14-days home quarantine.

Issuing the latest circular, the state government permitted re-opening of more activities in a calibrated manner, in areas outside the containment zones, and to extend lockdown in containment zones till July 31.

The guidelines also permit unrestricted inter-State movement of persons and goods adhering to the standard operating procedures issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Revenue.

Karnataka has reported 23474 cases so far of which 13251 are active cases.

A sharp spike in cases has been reported in Bengaluru in the past week with the city now grappling with 9580 cases of which 8167 cases are currently active cases.
