Karnataka former minister Mumtaz Ali Khan passes away

Former minister and former member of state legislative councils, Prof. Mumtaz Ali Khan passed away, at the age of 94, due to age-related ailments, at his Ganganagar residence in Bengaluru today.

Bengaluru: Former minister and former member of state legislative council, Prof. Mumtaz Ali Khan (94), passed away this morning.

He was suffering from age-related health issues and died at his Ganganagar residence in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He served as the Minister for Haj, Waqf and Minority Welfare in BS Yeddyurappa's BJP govt in 2008. He was the only minister from the Muslim community in the BJP government.

He quit the BJP and joined the Congress in 2013. Due to lockdown is in the state, his funeral will be held as per the Covid protocols.
