Disabled children buried in sand pits during solar eclipse in K'taka

People in the Tajastanpura village of Karnataka bury disabled children into sandpits as part of a superstition that they will be cured. People have made efforts at making these villagers understand the difference between faith and blind faith but they continue to follow their age-old superstitions.

Gulbarga: As part of a bizarre superstition, disabled children of the Tajastanpura in the Gulbarga district here are buried in sandpits with only their head out during solar eclipses.

The people in this village believe that burying their children into sand pits could cure their disability. Unaware and careless about the possible consequences, parents willingly bury their kids.

Three children have so far been buried in the hope of curing them.

Most of the people in northern Karnataka continue to believe in this superstition.

Kalburgi(Karnataka): In the village Of tajastanpura in Kalburgio district, The Disabled children were buried in the Pit by their parents due to the Solar Eclipse.



The people in this part having a Superstition that During the solar eclipse disabled children were buried in the pit means, Disability will cures they are having unwisdom about this and they are following it.



Sanjana(4), Pooja camaling(6), Kaveri(11) are the Buried disabled children in the village of Tajasulthanapura. Most of the people are still belives the Superstition in the part of North Karnataka.



Many educated people were told to these parts of people and made aware of the Blind Beliefness and Superstition But also people would not leave the old culture and Blind Beliefs.
