Gadag (Karnataka): Hardships come in everyone's way but losing one's eyesight is a nightmare for anyone to come across. Despite facing immense difficulties, there are some amazing people who have overcome their disabilities and conquered new horizons.
These are those people who chose to work for themselves and society and don't concede to defeat.
Sangappa, a visually challenged, from Gadag district of Karnataka is one such person. He lost his eyesight 10 years ago in a drastic accident.
Although this is not a highly unusual scenario, what sets Sangappa apart from others like him is his ability to be hopeful of life in every situation.
He has, with his efforts, set an example for others who can see.

His disability has not crippled him but he has strived hard to conquer his disability.
Sangappa learnt to drive a tractor with the help of his family members who also help him in working at a nearby agricultural field.
He said that despite losing his eyesight 10 years ago he is leading an independent life and is happy with it.
"I do not take money from anyone and earn my own living by working hard," Sangappa said.
In addition to his new job, Sangappa is also a good craftsman. He makes miniature tractors, jeeps, bullock carts, and temples out of old wedding invitations.
He makes these craft items by touching the objects that he has to transform into models, remembering their shape and structure and then transforming the invitation cards into smaller versions of them.
It is rightly said that the loss of one sense, strengthens the other five senses of a person.
Sangappa says that his work gives him satisfaction and also makes him able to make a contribution to society.
