Bengaluru: As many as 790 asymptomatic COVID positive patients in Karnataka have lost lives in five days.
This development is in stark contrast to the cases in the first wave during which a small number of asymptomatic patients died. From May 4 - 8, a total of 2,140 COVID-infected patients in Karnataka lost lives out of which 790 were asymptomatic.
Dr Sachin from Manipal Hospitals explained that the mutated virus has been attacking the lungs and this cannot be detected through an RT-PCR test. "Only CT Scan will detect this mutant and that too, at a later stage," he said.
