Belagavi (Karnataka): In an unfortunate incident, a police sub-inspector, who was on lockdown duty, died in a road accident in Karnataka's Belagavi on Saturday.
According to reports, MG Ganachari (58), who was attached to the Khade Bazar police station, met with an accident while he was on his way to oversee the lockdown implementation at around 6.30 am.
In an attempt to save the life of a street dog which was crossing the road, Ganachari's bike skid on the road. The incident took place under the Belgaum Rural police station limits.
Ganachari received severe injuries and reportedly died on the spot.
Senior police officials then informed Ganachari's family about his sudden demise.
