Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, who was embroiled in a controversy after a sleaze CD of him with a woman went viral, has confessed to being the man in the video.

Confessing to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials, the former minister said, "I am the one who is on CD with a young woman but I had no idea she was recording it."

"I am the one who is on CD with a young woman. That girl is familiar to me too as the young lady came to me for her project work. She got my number and used to call frequently. I did not rape her," Jarakiholi said.

He further alleged, "The young woman and her gang have created political anarchy using my photo. It is not known how the video was made, I didn't lure the young woman."

He had also lodged a complaint with the Sadashivanagar police station on the CD gang.

It may be recalled that it was in fact Jarkiholi who had firmly refused to accept the allegations made against him by the woman. He had said that he was a victim of conspiracy and that the charade was being played to extort money from him.

A massive controversy broke out in Karnataka after social activist Dinesh Kalahalli released the CD, which showed Jarkiholi in a compromising position with a woman.

In her complaint to the police, the woman made serious allegations against the former minister. The woman said she met the minister in connection with the production of a short film.

"I was in Bengaluru in search of a job. I met Ramesh Jarakiholi before making a short film," she had said in the complaint.

Based on a complaint by the woman, Jarakiholi was issued a notice, following which he was called for interrogation by the investigation team.
