Mysuru (Karnataka): The Chamarajendra Mrugalaya Zoo here has been going through a tough economical crisis since the lockdown started. But, amid the crisis, a giraffe named Marie has given birth to a calf for the first time at the Zoo. The birth of the calf has filled energy into a low-spirited atmosphere of the Zoo.
Both the animal and calf are in good health condition, Zoo department said.
Currently, the Chamarajendra Zoo is closed for the visitors due to the nationwide lockdown induced to contain the spread of coronavirus.
According to the Karnataka government's order, it is stated to be reopened within four days.
