Bengaluru: The state government has announced a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh to Special Investigation Team (SIT), which arrested all the accused in the Gauri Lankesh murder case.
The case received international attention and debates over the security of journalists. A total of 16 accused were arrested in the case.
The SIT, which was set up to investigate the case, was headed by additional police commissioner Bijay Kumar Singh, and Deputy Commissioner of Police DC Anchhet.
SIT chief BK Singh had written to Additional Secretary Rajnesh Goyal to give cash prize after the investigation broke out. The prize was blocked due to the poll code in place due to the Lok Sabha election.
