Chintamani (Karnataka): Four people of a family were reported dead when lightning struck their house in Chikkaballapur district in Karnataka last Wednesday. A total of seven people were grievously injured in the incident in Chintamani.
Among these, four-year-old Gautam was the first to lose his battle with life. He died on Sunday. The same evening, his father Ambareesh passed away. The family's eldest daughter Vanisree died on Monday. On Tuesday night, another daughter Lavanya, too, breathed her last.

Somayajalahalli, a village in Chintamani, received unseasonal rainfall last Wednesday. A bolt of lightning hit Ambareesh's dilapidated house which led to its collapse. Ambareesh and his six family members, who were sleeping in the house, sustained grievous injuries as a result.
The other three members are Ambareesh's wife Gayatramma, his father Jagan and son Darshan. Of these, the condition of two is said to be critical. They are being treated at a government hospital in Bengaluru.
