Mangaluru (Karnataka): Former Karnataka minister and senior Janata Dal (Secular) leader K Amarnath Shetty passed away at the age of 80 in Mangaluru on Monday morning.
He was unwell and was admitted to a city hospital a few days back due to age-related complications.
He was elected as MLA from Moodbidri constituency in Dakshina Kannada district in the year 1983.
He was Tourism minister in 1987 and later as Labour minister in 1994.
He played a major role in the development of Janata Dal (Secular) party.
