Bengaluru: Karnataka police on Wednesday arrested a 25-year-old woman who quit her civil engineer's job to make quick money with her boyfriend through drug peddling. One of their associates was also arrested on the charges of drug-peddling.
The accused Renuka is a resident of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh and her boyfriend Siddharth hailing from Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh were classmates in a private college in Chennai. Later, the duo fell in love. Siddharth allegedly became a drug peddler and Renuka joined a private firm. Renuka felt her salary is too less and she is unable to help her family. Siddharth convinced her to join the cannabis trade and make money.

Siddharth later introduced Renuka to his associate Sudhanshu, who was studying a management course in a prestigious college in Bengaluru. Renuka booked a hotel room in Marathahalli in April last week. Siddharth and his associate provided ganja to her. The duo procured ganja from Odisha through Visakhapatnam. A team led by Inspector Anil Kumar conducted a raid a few days ago and arrested Renuka and Sudhanshu. Police seized a luggage bag, 2,500 grams of ganja in 10 packets and Rs 6,500 cash from the suspects. Meanwhile, police are doing a search operation to nab Siddharth.
