Dharwad (Karnataka): Two persons, including a real-estate businessman, were brutally hacked to death by a group of miscreants, with a machete in Kamlapur area of Dharwad, police said. The murdered real-estate businessman was identified as Mohammed Kudachi and the incident took place on Thursday night inside the Suburban police stations limits.
According to police, Kudachi was sitting outside his house in between 10 PM-11 PM, when a group of miscreants rushed to the place and attacked him with a machete and fled from the spot. Kudachi was lying in a pool of blood outside his house and he was carried into the bedroom by his family members. Hence, the police found his body from the bedroom.

After some time on Thursday night itself, another unidentified body was found from near Kudachi's house. The body was also lying in a pool of blood. It is suspected that the group of miscreants attacked and murdered the person, who ran away from Kudachi's house. The identity of the second person, who was murdered, was yet to be ascertained. Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner Raman Gupta visited the place of the murder and inspected it.
Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner Raman Gupta told reporters, "A double murder has taken place in Kamlapur, Dharwad between 10.30 PM and 11 PM. I and other senior officials are investigating the case. We are investigating the double murders with the help of fingerprint experts and the dog squads. We have formed different investigation teams to nab the accused. The investigation currently is in the preliminary stage."
The Police Commissioner said he would share all the details once the investigation was over. A case has been registered at the Suburban Police Station in this regard. The news of the double murder has left the city residents shell-shocked. Recently, a Congress worker was brutally murdered in the state capital Bangalore. The murdered person has been identified as Ravi alias Matti Ravi (42). The police said that the murder took place at Choudeshwari Nagar near Laggere around 11 pm on Wednesday and five people on bikes killed Ravi. The police have already formed special investigation teams to arrest the accused and are continuing the search operation.
