Bengaluru: As the country is witnessing a spike in Delta Plus Covid variant cases, the Karnataka government has made it mandatory for people entering the state from Kerala and Maharashtra to produce a Covid negative RT-PCR report.
State Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said the guideline has been issued to contain the cases of Covid-19 in the state and people coming from the two states should produce a RT-PCR negative report which is not older than 72 hours.
He said cases of Delta plus infection have been detected in a few states and it is under control in Karnataka. "More than 600 samples have been sent to the genomic sweeping test. We have also instructed the district administration to do random tests to check the spread," he added.
