Bengaluru boy donates savings to Covid fund

The Class 7 student handed in more than Rs 4000 to Bengaluru Urban district deputy commissioner as his contribution to Karnataka's fight against Covid-19.

Bengaluru: In a bid to do his best to help out the COVID-19 victims, a 12-year-old boy in Bengaluru donated four years of his savings to the Karnataka Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Mayank, a Class VII student, handed Rs 4,190 to Bengaluru Urban district deputy commissioner J Manjunath.

"I am studying in Class VII in Chikkabanavara. As I was upset with the COVID-19 situation in Bengaluru, I decided to donate my savings,' Mayank said. He also appealed to the people not to fear COVID-19, wear a mask and maintain social distance.
