Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Thursday donated two ambulances to Bowring & Lady Curzon Medical College & Research Institute (BLCMC & RI) here on Thursday in view of the ever-growing demand for the vehicles amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
HAL donated the ambulances under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
"These specialized ambulances can be used for transporting patients who require medical monitoring while in transit and non-invasive airway management," said R. Madhavan, CMD, HAL.
"The ambulances are equipped with facilities like air conditioning, basic life support system, analog oxygen delivery system, autoloader stretcher trolly with floor mounting mechanism," added Alok Verma, Director HR.

Three hospitals including Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital, HSIS Gosha Hospital and BBMP Super Specialty Hospital under the BLCMC&RI have presently been functioning has COVID care hospitals.
The handing-over program was held in the presence of Dr K Sudhakar, Minister for Medical Education, Karnataka, Rajender Kumar Kataria, Secretary to Karnataka Government Agriculture Department, and the in-charge of COVID care centres in Bengaluru along with top HAL and several government officials.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed between HAL represented by CH Venkateswara Rao and BLCMC&RI for up-keeping and maintenance of the ambulances.
Last month, HAL created and handed over the COVID- 19 Care Centre (CCC) to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (Bengaluru civic body). The facility houses 160 beds with other supporting infrastructure.
