Bengaluru: A Bengaluru couple who had given supari (contract) to kill their son-in-law, along with four others, have been arrested by Karnataka police.
The incident took place in Karnataka's Mandya district where a couple was blackmailed by Supari killers for not paying the charges to them for killing their son-in-law.
Investigations revealed that the victim's wedding to their daughter against the parent's wish led to the murder plan.
Police nabbed gangsters Mahadeva, Kumara, Lokesh, Mohan, and the couple Venkatesh and Puttathayamma, all hailing from Bengaluru on the attempt to murder charges.
Police said, "The couple's daughter married to the man belonging from other caste, which led the parents to take this step of giving a contract to kill their son-in-law."
The police later revealed that the gangsters after taking half of the money as advance blackmailed the couple for the remaining amount and robbed them.
"The gangsters were arrested as soon as we come to know about the supari killing. The couple who gave them the contract was arrested thereafter. "
