Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka): Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandalje was in an embarrassing situation on Tuesday when she visited Zilla Panchayat here.
The Congress activists protesting against the Central and State government for the price hike of onion and fuel in Karnataka's Udupi, after submitting a petition to the MP, decided to garland her with an onion garland.

However, Shobha was swift enough to move away from the spot before the activists succeeded in garlanding her.
Besides this, the Congress activists carried out their unique way to protest by distributing 'pakodas' (snacks made of onions) to the passersby.
They held their protest against the Centre and the State government whom they held responsible for the price hike of fuel and onion.

They alleged that the present BJP led government is not able to handle the present condition of the economy which affected the common men.
Later, the Sringeri MLA joined the protesters by wearing an onion garland and raised slogans against the Central Government.
