Expect message from BJP high command this evening: B S Yediyurappa

Asked about his continuation in the CM post, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday said he will take an appropriate decision once he receives message from the BJP high command this evening.

Belagavi : Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday said he is expecting directions from the BJP high command this evening regarding his continuation in the post. Speaking to reporters during his visit to flood and rain ravaged Belagavi district, Yediyurappa said he will take an appropriate decision once he receives directions from the BJP high command this evening. Asked whether he was satisfied with his work for last two years, he said, "if you are satisfied that's enough for me."

Indicating that Monday might be his last day in office, Yediyurappa had recently said that he will get on with "his work" from July 26 based on the instructions given by the BJP high command on July 25. His government will complete two years in office on Monday.

Yediyurappa on returning to Bengaluru after a two-day visit to Delhi to meet the BJP top brass had brushed aside reports of leadership change in the state. He had told reporters there in no truth in it and such rumours hold no value. It is only recently the chief minister mentioned that he is waiting for the high command's word in the matter. Hinting about his likely exit, Yediyurappa on Saturday said he had to face several challenges as chief minister from day 1 but is satisfied that he has made honest efforts to better the lives of the people.
