Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested two members of a notorious inter-state gang, involved in housebreak thefts and also seized 4 kg of gold worth Rs 2.25 crore.
The arrested have been identified as Fayum Alias ATM Fayum and Murasaleem Mohammod from Uttar Pradesh.
After arresting them, the police have solved as many as 35 theft cases held in the different parts of Bengaluru.
Fayum is a notorious robber from Uttar Pradesh who has been charged with more than 40 cases, including house robbery, murder and attempt to murder.
He was released on bail from a Noida jail in 2017 and has continued his activities which had become a huge problem for the Uttar Pradesh police.
The UP police department along with the government had announced a cash reward of ₹ 10,000 for giving information about him.
After noticing this, Fayum and his team moved to South India by car and started robbery in different cities.
Within a short period, Fayum did a series of robbery in the city of Bengaluru.
The accused had informed that they used to sell the stolen articles through Ashok Lote, who was jailed in UP on murder charge. However, a police team which went to UP came to know that Ashok Lote had died recently and the culprits used to share the booty and sell them in their native place.
Based on their statement, Bengaluru police inquired about Ashok Lati from Gurgaon prison and found out that he died a year back.
