BJP slams K'tka ex-CM over his tweet on Ram Temple fund raising drive

Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday has to face criticism by the ruling government for his comments over the donation for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. BJP national general secretary CT Ravi said that the minister should rethink before commenting over the temple issue.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): BJP national general secretary CT Ravi slammed former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy over his tweets on Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, a fundraising campaign for construction of grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

Referring to Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, he alleged that "volunteers who collect the money write down the name from the houses who do not give money".

While speaking to ETV Bharat, Ravi said, "People of all religion, caste and race are voluntarily donating money to build Ram Mandir. Nobody forcing anyone to donate a single penny in the name of construction of the temple. I can't get the reason why is Kumaraswamy speaking like this?"

Meanwhile, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha of Pejawar Mutt said that the Kumaraswamy's accusation is baseless. "Transparency is maintained in the process of fund collection. We do not force anyone to donate fund. When responding to such a big task, he should be responsible for giving statements."
