Karnataka: Bengaluru Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun, who is seen as the 'anti-plastic' crusader, raked up a storm after she presented a gift wrapped in plastic to newly elected Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
In a photo, the Mayor can be seen gifting a plastic-wrapped basket of dry fruits to Yediyurappa, during a courtesy visit.
She later acknowledged her mistake and paid the voluntary fine after she was called out.
The mayor paid the Rs 500 fine after being called out by environmentalists of the state.
