The incident took place on September 18, when Venkatappa found that his FasTag account was blocked and then he made a call to the FastTag Customer Care.

According to Venkatappa, "When I made a call to the customer service number none received it. Later, I received a call from another number which informed me that they were calling from FastTag. They said that my FastTag account was blocked and then asked me to follow the instructions for the resumption of services".

"They told me to download 'Any Desk App' or 'Quick Support' for further process. After I did the same they asked for my account information and then also asked for OTP," said Venkatappa.

After sharing the OTP, they assured me that the service will be resumed soon, said Venkatappa, adding later I found that Rs 1,48,483 was debited from my account.
