Bengaluru man flees after wife tests COVID positive, cops on the lookout

A man from Bengaluru abandoned his wife and has gone incommunicado after she tested positive for COVID-19. He did not even come back for his wife's funeral after she succumbed to the disease. The police are on the lookout for him as even he might be COVID positive.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a bizzare case, a man from Bengaluru escaped and has gone incommunicado after his wife tested positive for COVID-19.

According to reports, the couple had got married around two years ago and were staying at Mahalakshmi Layout in JC Nagar.

While the man used to work as a car driver, his wife was employed as a salesgirl at the Orion Mall.

However, the woman recently fell sick and was admitted to the Adichunchanagiri hospital, where her COVID-19 report came positive.

Soon after receiving the news, the man fled, abandoning his wife. He also switched off his mobile phone.

Subsequently on August 9, the woman succumbed to the disease. Her house owner informed the BBMP officials about the woman's death, following which she was buried according to the COVID guidelines.

The man did not even return for his deceased wife's funeral.

Meanwhile, the police are currently trying to trace the deceased's husband as there is a possibility that he too might be COVID positive.
