Bengaluru (Karnataka): Bengaluru police have arrested a rape accused by shooting him in his leg days after his accomplice was also shot in the leg and arrested.
The man, Imran Pasha alias Bodi is one of the main accused in a gang-rape case.
On February 11, a gang, abducted a woman and raped her in a stolen car and escaped. Following the incident, a case was registered after which the police started the investigation.
Details of incident:
On February 10, the accused threatened a person named Nagaraj and robbed his car, cash, jewellery and ATM card.
At around 4:30 am on February 11, the gang abducted a woman who was going to work and raped her in the car near the Kenchenahalli Road.
On the complaint lodged by the owner of the car, police went to arrest Shabarish and Imran. When the accused started to run, they shot one of the accused.
The rape incident came to light when the accused was arrested and interrogated.
A separate case has been registered at the Yelahanka Police Station. Shabarish, Imran were arrested and another accused is absconding.
A hunt is on to nab the other persons involved in the incident.
