Bengaluru (Karnataka): Bengaluru City Police Department is trying to collect information on drug dealings after the Sandalwood drug scandal reached its peak. After busting drug mafia in the Kannada Film Industry, the police have started their operation against the drug and cannabis dealings in the city.
After the Sandalwood Drug Case, police have seized a huge amount of cannabis from different parts of Karnataka. Bengaluru Police is working especially hard to prevent the narcotics in the Silicon city. After cracking so many cannabis cases, the police have found that it is extremely easy for drug peddlers to carry cannabis from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka.

Bengaluru Southeast Police have arrested 11 people and seized 117 kgs of ganja, from the cannabis sellers in the city on Thursday. On the other hand, Bengaluru's Electronic City Police have seized 57 kgs of cannabis, worth Rs 25 Lakhs, and arrested 9 accused Balaraju, Gopinath, Vinod, C. Manohara, K. Palpandi, Vaikatu Binu, Madan Kumar, K. Balaguru, Selvam who belonged to the state of Tamil Nadu. The Tilak Nagar Police also seized 60 kgs of cannabis worth 30 Lakh Rupees and arrested two Accused Mohammed and Mohammod Faroq on Thursday.
The Bangalore Police came to know about the cannabis trading and transporting from other states to Karnataka after arresting these accused. After the Sandalwood drug scandal, Bengaluru City Police is working hard to prevent drugs and cannabis from reaching the city and trying to make drug free Bengaluru.
