Karnataka lawmaker Narayan Rao dies of COVID

Congress MLA from Karnataka's Basavakalyan, Narayan Rao, has passed away due to COVID-19. Rao was admitted to Manipal hospital on 1st September.

Bengaluru: Basavakalyan Congress MLA Mr Narayan Rao, who was admitted to Manipal Hospital on 1st September and diagnosed with Severe COVID-19 infection passed away at 3:55 PM today. He was 65 years old.

"He was critically ill with multi-organ failure on multiple supports including ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit under constant observation by our expert panel of doctors. We deeply regret the loss and express our condolences to his family and friends," said Dr Manish Rai, Director Manipal Hospital.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi also succumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday. He had tested positive for COVID-19 on September 11 and admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi.
