Bengaluru: Three people have been arrested in Chhattisgarh's Raipur for allegedly abducting and killing a 10-year-old boy in Bengaluru. The boy was kidnapped for a ransom but was later killed after the father approached the police.
Asif Alam (10) son of Wasi Mohammed Abbas of Shikaripalya near Hebbagodi was kidnapped by unknown people who demanded Rs 25 lakh from his father. However, Abbas approached Hebbagodi police station and lodged a complaint.
Police registered the case and started looking out for the kidnappers.
When the kidnappers realized that the police team is looking for them, they killed him by crushing his head with a stone and fled to Chhattisgarh to escape the police net.
Bengaluru police traced them using their mobile phone location and realized the accused are in Raipur.
Raipur police were contacted and with their help accused Mohammed Rizwan, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Naushad were arrested in Tikrapara area.
Once the Bengaluru police contacted the SSP of Raipur, a special team was formed under Raipur SSP. The trio were arrested at Tikrapara in Raipur on the basis of the mobile tower location. The accused will be handed over to the Bengaluru police after presenting them to the local court.
