In a moving video from Karnataka's Koppal, an eight-year-old girl, celebrated her birthday near her father's grave after the man died of COVID19 recently.

Koppal (Karnataka): An eight-year-old girl who lost her father to COVID19 recently celebrated her birthday near her father's grave and the video going viral would melt anyone's heart.

Spandana, the girl from Kushtagi in Koppal district, celebrated her eighth birthday recently. Spandana's father Mahesh Konasagara was a victim of COVID19 in May this year when the second wave started ravaging the country. Mahesh was a good human being with social concern and used to involve in social works, according to local residents.

Even after his death, Spandana did not want to exclude her father from the birthday celebrations and insisted that she cut the cake near her father's grave. So, the family members took the girl to Mahesh's grave where she cut the cake and offered a piece to her father by placing it on his grave.

"When he was alive, my father used to celebrate my birthday in a grand manner. He wanted to see me as an officer and I will fulfil his wish by studying well. I will also carry on my father's social work," Spandana said.
