Owing to extreme poverty, Soniya Dhiwar, a resident of Gohla panchayat, lives in a tiny toilet. She uses the toilet's broken door as her bed, and cooks her meals out in the open.

Many years ago, when her husband was still alive, the couple had got a house under the government's Indira Awas Yojana. However, the house is now in a dilapidated condition, where the woman's son, his wife, and two kids live by risking their lives.

To make matters worse, the woman has no ration card, and she receives no pension. Though she has an Aadhar card, her son and his family do not.

Soniya decided to move out into the toilet, as she was fed up of her son's alcoholic habits.

The family's only means of income is by catching hold of small fish from the river. On days when there is no catch, the family often has to go hungry.
