New Delhi: The Supreme court bench led by the Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, on Thursday, adjourned the hearing of a petition for a week challenging the appointment of Jharkhand DGP MV Rao.
The bench asked the petitioner Prahlad Narayan to first make the former DGP KC Choubey a party to the case and then they will hear the matter.
Narayan had challenged the appointment contending that as per the SC's ruling in Prakash Singh case tenure has to be of 2 years and before that no DGP can be removed or replaced. Rao was appointed after 9 months.
