Ranchi: People from all over the country are becoming victims of cyber frauds from Jharkhand and the police of other states are constantly seeking help from the Jharkhand police in this matter. Last year, police of other states sought help from Jharkhand Police in 1242 cases.
According to data from the Jharkhand Police Headquarters, till 28 December 2020, police from different states sought help from Jharkhand Police in 1242 cases of cybercrime. Of this, the state police completed the investigation of 886 cases. At the same time, investigation is going on in 305 cases.
The state's Deoghar district saw the highest number of of cheating cases at 333, 218, while Jamtara saw 156 cases and Giridih, 121. In Ranchi, 290 cybercrime cases were registered while in the state, an overall of 1240 cases were registered by the police this year.

At the same time, last year, the police had registered 1385 cases of cybercrime. 98 cases were registered in Deoghar, 86 in Hazaribagh, 56 in Ranchi, 68 in Ramgarh, 52 in Jamshedpur, 70 in Dhanbad.
517 cybercriminals were arrested and the police recovered Rs 41.59 lakh from them.
