Arjun Munda launches Centers of Excellence for tribal welfare

Arjun Munda appreciated the efforts of the AoL in establishing the two centres in partnership with the MoTA. The Union Minister said the central government is fully committed for the welfare of tribal people of the country.

New Delhi: Central Minister Arjun Munda inaugurated two Centers of Excellence for tribal welfare that are based in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

The centres, which were inaugurated by the minister through video conferencing, have been established by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) in collaboration with the Art of Living (AoL).

Speaking on the occasion, Munda appreciated the efforts of the AoL in establishing the two centres in partnership with the MoTA. He said the central government is fully committed to the welfare of tribal people of the country.

The Maharashtra CoE would train tribal farmers of Aurangabad district on sustainable natural farming.

The Jharkhand CoE, which would work to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in five districts of the state, would cover 30 Gram Panchayats and 150 villages.

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta, Sri Sri Ravishankar of the Art of Living and many government officials were present on the occasion.
