Lohardaga (Jharkhand): A man in want for a son allegedly killed his six-year-old daughter following the 'advice' of an exorcist. The police arrested the accused Suman Nagesia and recovered an axe that was used to murder the girl named Sushma.
According to the police, Suman Nagesia hailing from Bondobar village in Lohardaga district of Jharkhand met an exorcist near the village. He told the exorcists about his disappointment of not having a son. The exorcist told Suman to kill his daughter during Diwali in order to have a son.
The police say that Suman waited several days for the right opportunity to kill his daughter. Suman killed Sushma by stabbing her on the neck, the police say. The accused was arrested after the local villagers informed the police about the incident.
The girl's body was later sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Meanwhile, the police launched a search for nabbing the exorcist who advised Suman to kill his daughter Sushma.
Suman Nagesia and his wife are daily wage workers.
