While, his daughter, Misa Bharti reached RIMS in the afternoon, later, his sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, along with his wife Rabri Devi also reached Ranchi in the wee hours of Saturday and met him at the hospital.

After meeting his father, Tejashwi spoke to media persons and said his father has tested negative for Covid-19 but reports of some other tests are awaited.

"My brother, mother and I had gone to see my father. He is well and treatment is going on. We have consulted with the doctors and hoping that he will get well soon," Tejaswi said.

Earlier, RIMS authorities served a show cause to the doctor attending him for his "unauthorised" statement that Prasad's kidney was functioning only at "25 per cent capacity".

Notably, Prasad, who is serving jail term in connection with the multi-crore rupee fodder scam is presently staying at Ranchi- based Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). Amid mounting criticism of the RJD president violating jail manuals, the septuagenarian politician was recently returned to paying ward of the hospital from the bungalow of RIMS Director.
