Saraikela (Jharkhand): After the Jharkhand government cracked whips on private hospitals for charging hefty bills on the Covid-19 patients, an owner of a local clinic publicly denounced the probe against the private health facilities.
In a video, Dr. OP Anand, owner of 111 Save Life Hospital in Saraikela, was seen abusing state ministers and the health minister, Banna Gupta.
In his video message, Dr Anand said," How dare the health minister initiate an investigation against my hospital? People know that how my hospital works and how Dr. OP Anand works for his patients. In such a situation when people are dying due to Covid-19 infection, this minister is trying to kill patients by launching an investigation against the private hospitals."
"I left the post of Civil Surgeon, otherwise I have the ability to beat such officers and ministers. The minister has not done this correctly by ordering an inquiry against my hospital. After all, on what basis the Health Minister has fixed the prices of medicines and oxygen in the state? I do not obey the government's any rule," he said.
State health minister Banna Gupta has ordered the investigation against the private hospitals that are fleecing Covid-19 patients. Subsequently, an investigation committee led by Civil Surgeon Dr Varyal Mardi was formed.
