Jharkhand: No takers for money scattered on road over COVID-19 fear

There were no takers for several Rs 100 notes that fell out of a businessman's pocket in Jamshedpur, as the people feared it might have been a conspiracy to spread coronavirus.

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand): Scores of Rs 100 notes which lay scattered across a road in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur remained untouched due to the fear of the coronavirus.

According to reports, several currency notes of Rs 100 were found scattered on the stretch of the road between Sidhgora and Bhuyandih.

Though many people spotted the notes lying around, no one dared to pick them up, as many thought it could be a conspiracy to spread coronavirus.

Upon receiving information from the locals, a police team from the Sitaramdera station reached the spot and took the notes into possession.

In the meantime, a businessman claimed that the notes, amounting to Rs 10,000 belonged to him and might have fallen out of his pockets.

Mohan Agarwal, who is a resident of Vidyapatinagar, was on his way to his medical store in Bhuyandih when the bundle of notes slipped out of his pockets without his knowledge.

Following verification, the police then handed over the notes to Agarwal.
