Ranchi (Jharkhand): Jharkhand Health Minister and senior Congress leader Banna Gupta has levelled serious allegations against the central government and said that there is a huge shortage of vaccine in the state. He said that even in the hour of crisis, the central government is not providing enough vaccines to the state. He said that PM Modi had stated that India has become a vaccine hub and about seven crore vaccines have been given to other countries. But here the states of their own country are not getting the vaccine. The third wave is likely to come and we need vaccines for the ages of 18 and 45 who are about one crore and 57 lakh adding that how can vaccine campaigns run without vaccines. In the third wave, the most affected may be those under the age of 18. Therefore, vaccinating that age group is the need of the hour.

He also said that there is a lot of vaccine shortage in the country, so a gap of 6 and sometimes 7, weeks is given between the two doses. Through ICMR, the central government is hiding its failures. I have information that scientists were not in favor of widening the gap, but due to the lack of vaccine, the ICMR changed the guidelines frequently under pressure from the central government adding that as there is no BJP government in the state, the Central government is not worried about us.
There may be ideological differences but keeping in view the interest of the state, Jharkhand should be helped by the central government, he added.
