Ranchi: After Jharkhand’s Health Minister Banna Gupta tested positive for COVID-19, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and other ministers have gone into self-quarantine on Wednesday.
According to information provided by Chief Minister's Secretary, apart from CM, seven other ministers have gone into self-quarantine.
Health Minister Banna Gupta conducted his COVID-19 test on Tuesday, in which he was found positive. Gupta was present in the state cabinet meeting held earlier on Tuesday.
Banna (50), who represents the Jamshedpur (West) assembly segment, is the second minister in the Hemant Soren cabinet to be diagnosed with the virus after state water resources minister Mithilesh Thakur tested positive in July.
The Chief Minister had self-isolated himself as a precaution then and took a test that came out negative.
