"I heard a sound and thought a mango might have fallen. I went outside to find a toy. I picked it up and showed it to my father who grew suspicious and threw the object outside our courtyard," said Dey's son Debasish.

Dey then informed the local police who rushed to the spot. A CISF squad was then called to the spot, which confirmed that it was a gelatin bomb inside the toy.

The police then informed the matter to the Ranchi bomb disposal squad.

The areas surrounding the bomb were sealed, as the squad diffused the bomb this morning. However, some shreds of the object remained, which the squad later safely exploded.

"Since last night it was a matter of concern. Though we could not clearly establish that it was a bomb, indications were clear that it was an explosive. The bomb disposal squad then safely diffused the bomb as per their standard operating procedure," said Bokaro city DSP Gyan Ranjan.

Dey, who owns a furniture shop, said that he had no personal enmity with anyone, and was unsure why the bomb was hurled inside his property.

"We have no enmity with anyone. Anything could have happened, our lives were in danger," he said.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
