If anywhere in the country, a cybercrime case surfaces, it is directly connected to Jamtara district of Jharkhand. None are spared from the claws of the cyber thugs of Jamtara, be it politicians, actors, or businessmen - everyone has been at the receiving end at some point or other. However, now, Deoghar is upcoming as Jamtara part -II.

Deoghar: Jamtara district of Jharkhand has become infamous all over the world for its cybercrime. So much so, that a web series has also been made on it. It is said, a phone call from here can make you poor within the blink of an eye.

If anywhere in the country, a cybercrime case surfaces, it is directly connected to this district of Jharkhand. None are spared from the claws of the cyber thugs of Jamtara, be it politicians, actors, or businessmen - everyone has been at the receiving end at some point or other.

The cultural capital of Jharkhand, Deoghar is identified with Lord Shiva. This city of Shiva holds its own identity by the name of Babadham. But now this place has become the hub of cybercriminals. 87 cases of cybercrime have been registered here this year and so far a total of 372 cybercriminals have been pushed behind bars. It is a matter of wonder that the jailed young men are very less educated and yet they easily cheat smart people. According to Ashwini Kumar Sinha, superintendent of police (SP) of Deoghar, their activities are like expert IT professionals.

Money is the reason why most young men take up jobs of being cybercriminals. The old cyber thugs give training to youths by taking money and after this training, they become experts.

Interestingly, most of the time, all these youths are ex-convicts, while some of them are engineers too. But, as soon as they get out of jail, they again join the world of crime.

Some are involved in cybercrime along with their whole families and according to the district police, the idea of easy money and expensive hobbies makes the youth easy victims of old cybercriminals.

Do not get caught in the greed of cybercriminal

Cybercriminals use various tactics to make people their victims. Sometimes by becoming a customer care officer, sometimes by becoming a bank officer, they get an OTP by calling the victim in the name of closing the ATM and updating KYC. Cyber ​​fraud can also make you a victim by offerings lotteries and prizes.

While the victims are losing out on their hard-earned money, the thugs sit peacefully in their homes. But, now the police are conducting raids day and night to show the thugs their rightful place in jail.
