New Delhi: The Delhi Commission (DCW) For Women on Sunday said it has rescued 45 girls from Delhi, who had been trafficked to the national capital from Jharkhand.
According to sources, the 45 girls have been brought back to their state after DCW chief Swati Maliwal contacted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who ordered officers to ensure the restoration of the girls.
All the girls were taken back to Jharkhand, where CM Soren met the girls and interacted with them.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand government has brought back 45 girls from Delhi from child trafficking rackets and after contacting their parents, the state government also assured rehabilitation of these girls.
"It has been observed that these girls are brought to Delhi on the pretext of getting them jobs and are then sold to traffickers. We believe many placement agencies have created this menace and we will continue our fight against human trafficking with the same vigour," the DCW said.
"These girls need special care and we hope the government will try their best to bring back happiness to these girl's lives. We have been constantly batting for strong laws aiming at curbing trafficking by placement agencies in Delhi. It is our mission to get laws implemented and put an end to the menace caused by the mushrooming of these agencies," the DCW added.
