New Delhi: Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Dhiraj Sahu, who along with newly elected MLAs from the state had come to meet party interim president Sonia Gandhi, on Friday said that talks about the number of cabinet berths for the party and who would get what in the JMM–Congress-RJD government were on.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, the Congress leader said the party MLAs were there to meet the Congress leadership and to wish them for the new year.
"MLAs want to meet Congress president after winning the elections," he said.
On being asked how many cabinet berths Congress would want in the government, he said the matter was being discussed but nothing was finalized as yet.
Commenting on reports that former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi was wanting to merge his Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Prajatantrik party either with the Congress or the BJP, Sahu said in case Marandi comes to Congress, he would be welcomed.
The Congress has 16 MLAs and is in coalition with the JMM in the Hemant Soren-led government.
