Garhwa (Jharkhand): Three labourers died of suffocation while cleaning a septic tank of an under-construction house at Kachari Road in Jharkhand's Garhwa on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Imaman Ansari, Amarendra Sharma and Baula. All of them were the resident of Kalyanpur village in Garhwa block.
According to the preliminary information, four labourers were involved in the opening the centring of the septic tank of a private under-construction house. Suddenly all four of them started suffocating.
One of the labourers somehow managed to get out of the tank. The remaining three were trapped inside and died of suffocation.
The relatives of the labourers reached the incident site as soon as they were informed. All four of them were rushed to the Sadar hospital, where three of them were declared brought dead.
"It seems that they have died due to suffocation. Three of them have died while one is undergoing treatment. The family of the deceased will be given ex gratia amount," Garhwa SDO Pradeep Kumar said.
