Katra (Jammu and Kashmir): With the commencement of unlocking the nationwide lockdown in the phased manner, it is expected that the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi temple will be opened for the visitors after June 8.
As horses are the prime means of transportation for the pilgrimage to reach out at the temple, the organising committee has ramped up the pre-testing of coronavirus of the horses involved in the transportation of the devotees.
Also, the committee has asked the horse riders to test themselves before commencing their services.
Meanwhile, the committee has informed that as many as 4,500 horses are registered under the Vaishno Devi transportation service in which only 450 horses will be granted permission if the governments permit the Yatra.
Earlier, on Friday the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued guidelines for re-opening of COVID-19 lockdown-- #Unlock1.
