Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): An employment policy is being framed by the administration and in the next five years, unemployment will be over, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday.
"Today, big business houses of the country participated in a workshop and deliberated on what can be done to end unemployment. The basic aim of today's workshop was to give proper counselling to the youth," he said while speaking on the sidelines of a workshop on 'Youth Engagement and Outreach' at SKICC in Srinagar.
"At the government level, we are working on an employment policy and in the next five years, unemployment will be over," he added.
Earlier, representatives of around 30 well-known corporate houses in India visited Srinagar as part of an outreach initiative for Jammu and Kashmir's youth, facilitated by the central government and the union territory administration.
Several senior government officials also attended the workshop and interacted with the delegation and apprised them about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
