Three Army porters detained for 'suspicious' use of WhatsApp in JK

Police detained three men from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, who were working as porters for the Indian Army, after it was found that they were using social messaging platform WhatsApp in a 'suspicious' manner.

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir): Three locals working as porters for the Army were detained by the security forces on Monday for using WhatsApp platform in suspicious manner in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

Police sources said three men belonging to Poonch district were working as porters in an army unit in Bhimber Gali area of Poonch district. "During routine monitoring these persons were found using WhatsApp in a suspicious manner.

"Their use of WhatsApp was treated as 'sensitive' and their numbers were also added in some WhatsApp groups which raised suspicion.

"Questioning of these persons is going on, but so far nothing adverse has found," sources said.
