Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Suspected militants opened fire on a police party in Srinagar's Khanyar area on Tuesday. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, one police personnel and a civilian were injured in the attack.
"Today evening suspected militants opened fire at the police personnel and another person near Shiraz Cinema at Khanyar area of the city," a senior police official said.
"During the attack, the duo received bullet injuries and are being treated at SMHS hospital," police said.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
The attack came ahead of the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, and Independence Day on August 15.
