Doda (Jammu and Kashmir): Security forces busted a terror hideout on Thursday evening in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district recovering RDX filled pipe bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Senior police officers said that police received information about the presence of a hideout in a forest area of village Chakranti.
Following this information, the Army and police launched a joint search operation in the area and found an underground hideout suspected to be used by militants in past.
During the searches, the police party found some material including explosive items hidden in the hideout.
Two 5 litre pressure cookers filled with RDX, 2 pipe bombs about 5 Kg each filled with RDX, 4 detonators, 12-volt battery, 50-metre wire, six 1.5 volt cells, and stored RDX were recovered.
The busting of the hideout has foiled the plans of the terrorists to carry out some big attack in near future.
Police said that the material was kept there by suspected militants. He said that presently no militant is active in Doda. However, the material was suspected to be kept there when the area was militancy infested.
